Siddharth's POV
My life has never been simple. Being a crown prince comes with its burdens and expectations. Today, I was at the mall with Aditya, my business partner and best friend since childhood. He knows everything about me, including the darker sides I hide. We had just wrapped up a deal regarding the purchase of the mall, and now I was on my way back to the office with him. But then, I heard her voiceโAnisha's. And, with her, was my love.
Five years. It had been five long years since I had last seen Samruddhi. Yet, in that instant, when my eyes met hers, it felt like time had stopped so my heart. She looked even more beautiful than I remembered like a goddess, with her long black hair cascading over her shoulders, her big, dark eyes always sparkling like star's, and that damned innocent smile of hers that made me lose myself every single fucking time.
I forced myself to look away, but my gaze kept returning to her. She was still the sameโmy love, my sugar. But she didn't look at me the way she used to. She had built walls around herself, walls I had no right to tear down anymore but I will no matter what I have to do for it.
The flicker of something in her eyes when she noticed me, the way her breath caught just for a second before she steadied herself. She didn't want me to see how much she was still affected by me, but I saw it. And that was enough to remind me why I couldn't let her go.
I stood there, silent, watching her with a mix of longing and frustration. I wanted to pull her into my arms, erase the distance, and make her remember everything we had shared. But I couldn't. Not in front of everyone. Not when we had both made our choices, and those choices had taken us down different paths.
Anisha invited Aditya to join them for lunch, and of course, he turned to me for approval. I nodded. How could I pass up a chance to spend a moment with My sugar?
The walk to the cafรฉ was painfully awkward. She was avoiding my gaze, and I was doing everything I could to keep my emotions in check. But then Aditya asked the question. "What were you two doing in the men's section earlier?"
"Umm... we were buying shirts for Samu's boyfriend!" Anisha said in rush, and I could see Samruddhi's eyes widen in shock.
My blood ran cold. No one was supposed to be even near her. No one. I looked at Samruddhi, and the anger hit me like a freight train. She didn't say anything to deny it. She didn't refute her friend's claim. Was she hiding something? Was she seeing someone else? The thought of another man in her life made my chest tighten, and the world around me blurred. I couldn't stay here any longer.
I stood abruptly, the chair scraping against the floor with a screech, and I snapped at Aditya. "We should get going. We have a meeting."
Aditya looked at me with surprise, but he didn't question it. He stood up and followed me without a word.
As we walked away, I noticed Anisha's nervous wave, but I didn't look back. I couldn't. My mind was racing with anger, with frustration, with thoughts of Samruddhi. She was mine. She always had been, and I would not let anyone take her away from me.
Once we were outside, I finally let out the breath I'd been holding. Aditya glanced at me but didn't say anything. He knew something was off, but he also knew better than to ask.
Work was waiting at the office, and my day passed in a blur due to continuous scheduled meetings. But nothing occupied my mind like herโthe way she had failed to deny the lie. Was she hiding something from me? Maybe she was seeing someone else? No. I wouldn't allow it. She would think of no one but me.
Later at Night all I could think about was her, how she didn't deny Anisha's words. Her failure to resist hurt more than anything, so I pulled out my phone and sent my sugar a message, something I knew would get her attention: "You are mine, Sugar." The message was seen almost immediately. I smirked. She was probably lying awake, thinking about what I'd just said.
I didn't care what happened in her life, or who she was seeing. I would make sure she knew who she truly belonged to. And that was me, Siddharth Rajwansh. Always.
The next morning, I woke up at 6 AM and headed to the gym, just as I do every day. Staying fit isn't just about maintaining good healthโit's also about looking my best. After all, I want to be someone my sugar can never complain about. I want to be perfect for her in every way.
I did my usual routine, had breakfast with my family, and then headed to the office. But my mind kept drifting back to her. I had to see her again; I can't wait for tonight's party.
Later that evening, I arrived at the birthday party hosted by none other than Anirudh SharmaโSamruddhi's brother. Anirudh was not just a successful CEO of Sharma Enterprises but also one of my closest friends from college. The three of usโAnirudh, Aditya, and Iโhad been inseparable back then, and our business partnership had only strengthened over the years But now, even though things are same it felt different.
"Sid!" Anirudh called out, striding toward me with his usual confident demeanour. He pulled me into a tight, brotherly hug, slapping my back. "You're finally Back."
"I am" I replied, matching his smile. But my eyes were already scanning the room.
Anirudh didn't miss it. His sharp gaze followed mine, and his expression hardened slightly. "Looking for someone?" he asked casually, but there was an edge to his voice.
"No," I said.
He chuckled dryly, stepping closer so only I could hear him. "Don't lie to me, Siddharth."
I raised an eyebrow, playing innocent.
"Don't," he said sharply, his smile fading. "Don't mess with her again."
My jaw tightened. "Mess with her? Is that what you think I'm doing?"
"You and I both know what happened five years ago," he said, his tone low but firm. "She's my sister, Sid. She's been through enough. Whatever you're planning, stop it now. I won't let you hurt her again."
His words ignited a fire in me. I took a step closer, my voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "With all due respect, Anirudh, you don't get to tell me how to feel about her. She is mine only MINE"
"Yours?" he repeated, a bitter smile tugging at his lips.
"You don't understand," I said, my voice colder now. "She and Iโwhat we had, what we still haveโ chod yaar tu nahi samjhega and if You think you can keep her from me? You can't. She's mine, Anirudh. She always has been."
Anirudh's expression darkened, his body tensing as if ready for a fight. "Listen to yourself, Sid. This obsession of yours isn't love. It's poison. And if you cause her a moment of pain, I won't hesitate to kill you."
I leaned in, my voice barely above a whisper. "You're welcome to try. But let me remind you, Anirudhโyou might be her brother, but you're not her keeper. She'll come back to me. And when she does, there won't be a damn thing you can do about it."
For a moment, we stood there, two titans locked in a silent battle of wills. Then, Anirudh stepped back, his lips pressed into a thin line. "Don't ruin her life, Siddharth," his voice laced with warning before he turned and walked away.
I didn't respond. There was no need.
I stayed, waiting eagerly for her to arrive. I knew she would look perfect in the silver saree I had specially designed for her. The thought of seeing her in it made my heart race.
When she finally appeared, descending the stairs like an angel, I couldn't tear my eyes away. She was stunning, just as I knew she would be. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, and that silver saree hugged her perfectly. The way she looked at me, then quickly averted her gaze, made my heart swell with desire.
I saw the blush creep on her cheeks when she saw me looking at her, i love the effect i have on her, but she hurriedly diverted her gaze and went towards her brother.
Throughout the party, I couldn't stop watching her. Every time she looked away, I felt my jealousy flare. Anisha had jokingly mentioned her boyfriend, and I couldn't ignore the jealousy that burned inside me. I needed her to know that she belonged to me, and no one else.
After talking to my parents and her brother for some time She gave an excuse and left from there, so I sent her a message: "Looking so sexy, love, and those red lips. I so want to eat them."
She looked at her phone, and a blush spread across her face. I loved seeing the effect I had on her. As she moved toward her best friend, Anisha but before she reach I grabbed her hand and pulled her into a secluded corner. I pressed my hand over her mouth, my lips brushed against her ear as I whispered softly, "It's me, love. Open your eyes."
I felt her shiver at the sound of my voice, but she stopped struggling and slowly opened her eyes, those beautiful black orbs locking with mine.
The moment I removed my hand from her mouth, she spoke in a tone laced with cute, fiery anger, igniting something deep inside. "What do you want, Mr. Rajwansh? And why the hell did you drag me here like this?"
Her words only made me smirk. Ignoring her question, I lowered my face to the crook of her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent. She smelled like chocolatesโso addictive, so sweet, so perfectly.
She pushed against my chest, trying to create distance, but I tightened my hold on her, my lips hovering near her ear as I murmured in a husky tone, "Stay still, love, unless you want me to kiss you right now." I nipped lightly below her ear.
She is taking deep breaths. This close proximity of ours is affecting her, and I am loving it. But suddenly, she said in her flared voice, "Please let me go, Sid," and I loosened my hold on her after listening to her calling me Sid after so many years. But that's when she grabbed her chance and slipped away from me and ran away.
I stood there, unable to move, my heart racing like never before. She called me Sid. Hearing her say that after so many years felt like the best thing in the worldโit brought me a kind of peace I hadn't felt in a long time.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm down, and went back to the birthday party. But no matter how hard I tried to focus, my eyes kept searching for her. I couldn't stop watching her, even though she was clearly avoiding me, refusing to meet my gaze.
After the party, we all went home, but my mind was still stuck on herโher voice, her presence, the way she tried so hard to keep her distance.
Soon, I told myself. I'll see you again soon, love.
